“When I woke up this morning I didn’t think I would find myself here. But just because this is where we are doesn’t mean our fate is set in stone…”

                                                                        The Longer Day Of Happiness

Today is the day the Jones children change the course of their lives for better or for worse. Raised in a showbiz environment by their mother Lydia Jones, a prominent actress on TV during the eighties who has a knack for marriage, she’s done it six times, repeatedly told her children when they were growing up that you must take risks in life no matter what the consequences. It’s what makes not only great art, but a great life.

Lisa, the eldest and Lydia’s biological daughter is an actress as well. She recently, by her own choice ended a seven year run on a successful TV show in order to spend more time with her husband only to find that her marriage is not as she remembered. In an effort to distract her from the reality that stares her in the face every morning over coffee, she’s taken an interest in her brother Garret’s love life. Routinely setting him up on blind dates via an internet dating account that he doesn’t even know the password to.

Jack, the middle child along with his younger brother Garret who were adopted by Lydia from her second marriage, is a writer/producer and is coming up on the finale of the third season of his television show about a modern day revolution. Jack has two previous shows under his belt but his current show aptly titled Revolution has beaten those by one season. Only now the ratings are dipping and his Mother’s advice of taking risks is starting to take hold of his decision making process.

Garret the younger brother is on his way to being a successful playwright. He’s in the middle of rehearsals for his latest play and his director wants changes, as does everybody else in his life. Change is something Garret is not good at and Cheryl, the waitress he visits every morning and afternoon reminds him of this as she only refers to him by his repetitious order, Large regular and Chicken Salad.

As the day runs its course, Garret finds himself out on the town with Cheryl, her rowdy friends and Bob the sound guy on his play who knows two things. How to have a good time and where the best massage parlors are. Lisa keeps bumping into the same man during the day who’s honesty in relationships mirrors her current dilemma and she thinks this man might be re-appearing in her day for more than just relationship advice. Jack will stop at nothing for what he feels is the right thing to do with his show and boost the ratings. But everybody from Mark his producing partner to Colette the studio head, Walter Reed the head of the network and Aimee his assistant are waiting for him to see the light. But Jack is willing to take a risk and push the fight even though it may cost him his career. After all it is what he was always told to do, right or wrong.

When you find yourself up against the wall of change you can either torch your past and start over or break through into...

The Longer Day Of Happiness.
